Five pupils from Arap Moi Primary School in Uasin Gishu drowned on Saturday during a swimming expedition in a dam.
The students who were candidates preparing for the upcoming national exams went to the dam as part of a team building exercise before their commence their exams.

The incident which occurred at 5 pm began with the students visit to an amusement park before visiting the man-made dam later on.
At the time of the accident, there were six students on the boat and it lost balance as revealed by villagers who witnessed it.
One of the students was to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment as a team of rescuers were at the scene to retrieve the bodies of the other students.
