Former Chief Justice David Maraga has condemned the current abduction of government critics calling for an and to heartless and uncaring politics in he country.
Through his new year message to Kenyans, the fourteenth Chief Justice noted that the pushback by citizens against government policies is a test of insititutions.
“It demands a moral response. If we are truly a people sworn to the sanctity of life and the dignity of every citizen, then we must stand bold in the truth of our Constitution.

I condemn the killing, torture and abductions and call for the immediate release of the youth still held unlawfully. Our politics must never again be this heartless and uncaring.” he said
He continued by saying that the June anti-government protests was meant to address the culture of impunity and confront the unresponsive attitude of issues of public concern.

According to Maraga, the new years should be a year of accountability to those who caused so much pain to Kenyans in 2024.
