Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Wafula Chebukati has passed away.
The news of his death was confirmed by one Cyprian is Nyakundi who said that the former chair passed away days after he confirmed again that he was seriously ill.

At the time of his death at 11pm on Thursday, Chebukati had been admitted at a hospital in Nairobi and was aged 64 years.
Even though he had been admitted at the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU), the news about what he was ailing from remains unknown.
Wafula Chebukati will be remembered for overseeing two general elections of 2017 and 2022, elections that saw the defeat of former Prime Raila Odinga to President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.
