Maria Aloo Msando, the mother to the late Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT manager Chris Msando has passed away.
Revealing the news to K24 was his son elder Peter Msando who said that her mother died on Thursday at the age of 85 years at Avenue Hospital in Kisumu.
According to Peter, his mother was in a coma at the time of her death as she was battling high blood pressure and diabetes for some time.

“She had been hospitalised in Busia with high blood pressure and a sugar problem. She was given some medicine to stabilise the pressure, but it went slow and she became hypotensive.
She went into a coma on Thursday, and we rushed her to Avenue Hospital, where she was admitted to ICU around 1 pm but unfortunately, she passed away at 1 am today, Friday. So it was due to multiple organ failure,” said Peter.
Mourning the late Maria Aloo was Siaya Governor James Orengo who termed her a family matriarch who had a magnetic personality and deep care for others.
“My heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and relatives of the late IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando for the passing on of their family matriarch Mama Maria Msando.
Mama had a magnetic personality and ability to care deeply for others that allowed her to cultivate many lasting relationships. May her soul Rest in Eternal Peace.” said Orengo
