Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has been arrested alongside his wife Madam Priscillah by DCI detectives as revealed by ODM party.
According to the party, the reason behind their arrest is not yet known and no information is being provided by those responsible.
“Our DPL Wycliffe Opranya has been arrested by officers from the DCI. Oparanya together with his wife Madam Priscillah are currently at the EACC offices at Integrity Centre. No information has been given as to why they have been arrested & why they are being questioned,” said ODM

It has been revealed that the two have been arrested over fraud and economic crimes committed by the former Governor during his tenure at the county.
“Ex-Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and his wives arrested by EACC officers over alleged fraud and economic crimes committed during his tenure,” said Seth Olale.
This is the second time the Wycliffe Oparanya has been arrested under the current regime with the first one during the just ended nationwide demonstrations.
The former Governor was arrested on allegations that he had been fueling demonstrations in Busia following his alleged visit of the county at the time.
