Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has denied allegations by the President that he demanded Ksh 10 billion so as to step down from his position.
Speaking on Monday during an interview with KT News, the former DP confirmed that he funded the 2022 campaigns and that he is not the type to ask for money.
โThey froze my accounts, blocked my businesses, and tried to stop me. I invested heavily in his campaignโIโm not the type to go around asking him for money.โ said Gachagua

โI never blackmailed the President. If that were the case, it would have been the first charge during the efforts to force me out of office,โ he said
He continued by accusing the President and the National Intelligence Service of peddling the impeachment agenda as well other politicians for pushing for his removal.
โIn Western Kenya, he said I was incompetent and tribal. In North Eastern, he claimed I was divisive. In Nyanza, he called me primitive and corrupt,โ he said
The news follows an interview by the President where he accused his former Deputy of falling out with people in State House and even threatened to make him a first term President if he does not give him Ksh 10 billion.
Gachagua has once again accused President William Ruto of being a liar and heading the loot of public resources.
