Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hit out at politicians from Rift Valley against interfering with politics from Mt Kenya region.
Speaking on Saturday from Uasin Gishu, the Deputy President noted that the politicians are allies of President William Ruto and were meddling with Mt Kenya politics.
According to the DP Rigathi Gachagua, the politicians who have joined hands with others from his region are ill advising the President ahead of the 2027 elections.

“There are politicians from Rift Valley who have partnered with others in the Mt Kenya region and have decided to plan 2027 politics. Why do you want to succeed the president while he is still alive?
We are good people, so the problem is a few leaders from this region who are ill-advising the President on Mt Kenya politics,”” he said
The DP noted that the people of Mt Kenya promised to support the President and that is what they are doing, keeping the promise.
“The people of Mt Kenya have no problem, we are good people, we promised to support Ruto and we did just as we promised. We are honest and straightforward people, the only thing we hate is betrayal.” he said
The statement comes at a time when Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru accused the Deputy President of pursuing his personal interests.
“Everyone has a right to dream and pursue their dreams like those in current leadership dreamt and their dreams were actualised by the support of millions of youth and women.” she said
