The much awaited launch of Maisha Namba by the government has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons.
Confirming the news was Immigration and Citizen Services PS Julius Bitok who said that the event which was to be held at the Athletics Club, Nakuru County has been postponed and a new date will be announced.
“We wish to inform the public and all the stakeholders that, due to unavoidable circumstances, the official launch of the Maisha Namba and the digital ID ecosystem that was to be presided over by His Excellency, the President William Ruto, CGH, on October 2, 2025, at the Athletics Club, Nakuru County has been postponed,” read the statement

Even though the launch has been postponed, the ongoing countrywide public participation and stakeholders engagement drives will continue as usual as confirmed by the PS.
Maisha Namba which is a replica of the famous Huduma Number will act as a single identification for Kenyans with all details about a person entered into the document.
As for new born babies, the document will also include their birth details and they will use it for the rest of their lives. Other details to be included in the single document include NHIF, NSSF and KRA details.
The issue of data security has also been discussed with the government promising that everything will be secured a no information will be leaked out.
