Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani has threatened to sue ODM party and former Prime Minister Hon. Raila Odinga for defamation.
Through a letter, the Governor noted with regret the recent sentiments by the ODM party leader Raila Odinga during his recent visit in Kwale County.
“Sexual and Gender-based violence (GBV) is one of the most obstinate violations of human rights across the globe. These demeaning and uncalled for remarks are not only disrespectful to Governor Achani but also undermines the progress made in bridging the third gender rule gap in the country.

Governor Achani, a married woman and devoted Muslim deserves respect for her leadership role in Kwale County.” read the statement
The statement was referring to a statement by the former Prime Minister who said ‘huyo ni bibi ya Mvurya’ which has been termed as defamatory in nature.
It due to the utterances that the people of Kwale demand an apology within seven days failure to comply legal action will be taken against ODM as a party and Raila Odinga as an individual.
