Gov’t pathologist reveals Richard Otieno’s cause of death

The government pathologist Johansen Oduor has revealed that Richard Otieno succumbed to severe head injuries caused by a sharp object that was hit him several times.

“The injuries confirm he died due to severe head trauma inflicted by a sharp object, likely a machete or axe,” he said

Speaking from Kericho County Hospital Mortuary, Johansen revealed that the late activist sustained injuries to the back of his head, had significant bleeding in the brain and that his skull had fractured too.

“Additionally, there was a slash wound on the front of the scalp and bruises on the face, indicating extreme violence,” he said

At the same time, Oduor noted that Richard Otieno who is also well known as Molo President had defensive wounds suggesting that he attempted to shield himself from the attackers.

He however said that samples taken from his fingerprints and taken in for toxicology will reveal whether he was incapacitated at the time of the incident.

“When individuals engage in violent confrontations, there’s usually an exchange of DNA material, which is crucial in identifying perpetrators,” he said

Present during the exercise was the family doctor and an independent doctor who confirmed the findings of the postmoterm results.
