President William Ruto has on Monday confirmed that the government will recruit additional 20,000 teachers to enhance education in the country.
Speaking at Kamagut Primary School in Uasin Gishu County, the Head of State noted that the government had set aside 46 billion to fund universities under the new model and Ksh 5 billion to fund TVETs.

He continued by saying that the new funding model will ensure that learners have access to education without challenges.
“Our universities have for long had funding challenges and this new funding will ensure our learners access education without such challenges,” he said
Also touched by the President were issues on Affordable Housing Projects and SHIF saying that they are meant to transform the country.
