The government through the Ministry of Education has revealed plans to scrap off the SMS option of receiving examination results.
Revealing the news was Education CS Ezekiel Machogu who hinted plans to introduce a website where all results can be accessed from.
Machogu was speaking before a parliamentary committee noted with regret the mixup that parents, pupils and guardian experienced while accessing the results. Most of them received the wrong results causing a public outrage.

“Here is a situation where an outsider was given the contract but did not conform and do to the required standards.
It means that moving forward when we release the KCSE results we shall not be able to make use of the same service provider… I am already engaging the ICT to see if we can develop a website,” said the CS
The CS was forced to apologize over the issue at a time when parents had threatened to file a suit against SMS providers for charging them on results they could not receive.
