Harry Maguire and Onana silence haters with a goal and a save

Harry Maguire and goalkeeper Onana redeemed themselves by netting a goal and producing a save in the Tuesday Champions League fixture against FC Copenhagen.

After paying tribute to sir Bobby Charlton, it was time for Manchester United to show their might but it was the visitors who threatened through Diogo Gonçalves and Mohamed Elyounoussi who had his shot go wide.

Scott McTominay came close to taking a perfect shot but his effort was blocked by Peter Ankersen sending Erik Ten Hag boys back to the drawing board. The numerous attempts from Sergio Reguilón raised the pressure for the host to make the impact.

In the second half Lukas Lerager forced Onana to make a crucial save after meeting Viktor Claesson’s cutback. Ten Hag who opted the services of Eriksen had his effort blocked by the powerful hands of the goalkeeper

In the 72nd minute, the Red Devils made a breakthrough when Maguire met Eriksen’s cross to give them the lead.

McTominay who missed an opportunity to double the lead before conceding a penalty after challenging Elyounoussi in the dying seconds. Onana stepped to the big occasion punching the ball out.
