The High Court has suspended special Privileges & Immunities status issued by the government to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation until a case filled by LSK is heard and determined.
The High Court led by Judge Bahati Mwamuye also suspended the foundation from enjoying the Privileges & Immunities perks.

According to the Law Society of Kenya, the status issued to the foundation should be declared null and void following questions raised by Kenyans over the move by the government.
In October, the foundation was granted certain privileges and immunity given the nature of its work being that of fighting poverty, diseases and inequality.
“The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in this Order referred to as “the Foundation”, being a charitable trust established to fight poverty, disease and inequality in over one hundred and forty countries globally, and with which the Government of Kenya has entered into an agreement for cooperation, is hereby declared to be an organisation to which section 11 of the Act shall apply,” read the government notice.
