Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has on Wednesday re-affirmed his position that he is seeking support for AUC Chairmanship and nothing within the government.
This is after he met Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi before holding a joint media briefing outside Mudavadi’s office in Nairobi.

“I held a meeting with the Prime Cabinet Secretary and CS for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi. This is in regard to my candidacy for the AUC Chairmanship. We exchanged notes on the state of the quest; the preparations from my side and the government’s side.
I wish to reiterate the obvious, that I am vying for a position in Africa, not in the government or the Republic of Kenya but I need the endorsement of the government of Kenya for this Africa position.
I am encouraged by the number of senior government officials offering to be part of this journey; we are in this as Kenya and not as partisan political parties. I thank Kenyans and the government for the support; we promise to keep updating the country on the status of the race.” said Raila.
