Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence over Sunday’s church attack where goons caused chaos.
Speaking after the incident, Gachagua noted that he had no problem with President William Ruto sending goons his way but questioned why they were sent to church.
“Unfortunately, there are concerted efforts to curtail our freedom to move around the country and associate with like-minded people. I did not mind Ruto sending goons after me, but in church? Surely? What has happened to you, Mr. President?” he said

The statement confirms that the former Deputy President blamed the President for the attack that saw his security detail shoot in the air to scare away the goons.
According to Gachagua, he is aware that the Deputy Inspector General had instructed the police not to respond to the attack.
You don’t care anymore that, through Nairobi Governor Sakaja, you are sending goons to cause trouble in the church. That’s okay; you can continue. We are aware that the Deputy Inspector General instructed the police not to come.” he said
The statement comes at a time when the President ended his development tour of Mt. Kenya region where some leaders were heckled over their political stand.
At the same time, Gachagua has maintained his attack on the President accusing him of a number of things as he promised that he will only serve for one term.
