Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has on Monday revealed that he earned more when he worked as a journalist than now as an MP.
Speaking during an interview with NTV, the former radio presenter noted that his current salary is mainly channeled to helping the community.
He continued by saying that when he worked as a journalist, the salary he earned was for him alone but as an MP, the salary goes out to serving Kenyans and most importantly those in his constituency.

“If you want to join Parliament to make money, you will suffer. Leadership does not need someone who is greedy. When I was a journalist, I was being paid more than now as an MP.” said Jalang’o
According to the Legislator, when he worked as a journalist he aired the grievances of people but as an MP he works towards solving the problems.
The first time MP won the Lang’ata seat under ODM, a party that has since challenged him to vie under UDA following his links with President William Ruto.
