The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has called on speedy investigations into the murder of senior IEBC boss Aisha Akinyi Abubakar.
Through a statement, IEBC CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan noted that as a commission they are deeply saddened by the incident and condemn the perpetrators behind the heinous act.
“The IEBC fraternity is saddened by her death and expresses its deepest condolences to Aisha’s family, friends and colleagues for the tragic loss. The IEBC assures the family and friends that it will journey with them during this period of profound sorrow.

Further, the Commission is deeply concerned by this horrendous incident and condemns the perpetrators behind Aisha’s death. As we condole with the family of Aisha, we call on the country’s security agencies to speedily investigate this heinous occurrence and apprehend her killers.” read the statement
Marjan eulogized Aisha as an officer who performed her duties with utmost honesty, integrity and dedication.
Aisha who was in the house with her son in Utange, Mombasa County were attacked at 3am by two men who stabbed her several times and inflicted head injuries to her.
Her son who was also injured in the incident managed to driver his mother to the hospital only to be confirmed dead on arrival.
