The National Police Service through the inspector General Douglas Kanja have denied involvement of the police in abductions.
Through a statement, the IG noted with deep concern the allegations saying that the police arrest and not abduct criminal offenders thus they are not holding the alleged abductees
“For the avoidance of doubt, the National Police Service is not involved in any abduction, and there is no police station in the country that is holding the reported abductees,” he said

He continued by reminding the public that the freedom of speech comes with its own limitations and thus should be exercised with utmost responsibility.
“Whereas Kenya is a democratic country that guarantees freedom of expression, freedom not only comes with certain limitations but should at all times be exercised with utmost responsibility.
We therefore appeal to the public to refrain from spreading false, fabricated, malicious, distasteful, misinformed and unverified information aimed at tarnishing the reputation and image of the National Police Service.” he said
According to Kanja, anybody with information in regard to the recent missing persons should report to the nearest police station.
