Volleyball legend and former Malika Stars player Janet Wanja has passed away following a courageous battle with gallbladder cancer.
Wanja has been a notable figure in sports in Kenya and will be remembered for her contribution in volleyball in Kenya raising the Kenyan flag both locally and across the continent.
Fans and fellow athletes stood with her during her battle with cancer after it was revealed by brother that the family was in need of financial assistance to cover her medical expenses.

Kenya Pipeline is among the companies that committed to supporting her financially and her passing on has dealt a big blow to the sport given the experience that she was bringing in.
