Janet Wanja to be laid to rest on Friday at the Lang’ata Cemetery

Kenya’s volleyball star Janet Wanja is set to be laid to rest on Friday at the Lang’ata Cemetery, Nairobi as revealed by Kenya Volleyball Federation.

The late Janet Wanja’s burial service will beheld Lang’ata High School and the memorial service at the Kasarani Indoor Gymnasium on 2nd January 2025.

Wanja who represented the country in major events including the Olympics back in Athens, passed away following a battle with gallbladder cancer, a battle that was revealed by his brother who requested financial assistance.

Kenya Pipeline came through for the family agreeing to settle the pending bill and any other expenses that will arise.

Several celebrities and government personnel mourned the volleyball star sending their hearfelt condolences to the family and friends.

“Gone too soon champ. Your contribution to Volleyball in Kenya and sports industry was immense and will never go unnoticed. Thoughts are with her family during this difficult period.” said Michael Olunga

“Your name will always be etched in the annals of Kenya’s sporting achievements. My heartfelt condolences go out to your family and friends, especially to your brother Kimani. Rest easy, Wanja. You were truly one of a kind.” said Daddy Owen
