The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has confirmed that the fire at the grassland area of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has successfully been contained.
Through a statement, KAA noted that the exercise was conducted by there rescue and fire fighting service, the Kenya Defense Forces, National Police Service, Kenya Pipeline, Nairobi County Fire Unit, KK Security and G4S who worked tirelessly to ensure it was contained.

They however confirmed that the fire did not cause any damage to crucial infrastructure and operations at the busy airport.
“All airport activities, including flight schedules, passenger processing and cargo handling remain fully operational and were unaffected throughout the incident.
We would like to thank all teams involved in the response for their dedication and swift action which ensured the safety of our passengers and facilities while minimizing disruption.” said KAA
KAA did not however reveal the cause of the inferno.
