The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has halted hearing of a petition seeking to remove Chief Justice Martha Koome and Supreme Court Judges.
Confirming the news was the commission’s Vice Chair Isack Rutto who noted that there is a court order prohibiting the hearing of the petition.

The decision by JSC is definitely a sign of relief for the Supreme Court judges and Chief Justice Martha Koome who have recently been under fire.
The decision by JSC follows a day long sitting that came to an agreement to halt the hearing and obey court order prohibiting them. A total of eight petitions had been filed in court including those filed by Supreme Court judges themselves.
JSC had been called had been called to investigate CJ Koome and the Supreme Court judges of incompetence, misconduct, and misbehaviour.
The petition seeking to remove them from office had been filed by lawyers Nelson Havi and Ahmednasir Abdullahi, along with former Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju.
