Jubilee Party has on Thursday confirmed former CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i as there preferred Presidential candidate to face off against President William Ruto.
Speaking to the media, the party noted that the endorsement of Matiang’i will only mean a fierce competition from Azimio partners ahead of the 2027 general elections.

We’ve settled on Matiangi as our candidate. Not to mean that he becomes eventual presidential candidate but a presidential candidate within the party who would then join others in coming up with one person who I believe as a coalition we will be able to back,” said Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni.
Kioni continued by backing the former CS’s track record in matters governance as the reason why they are backing him up.
The news comes months after Dr. Fred Matiang’i confirmed his plans to vie for Presidency and is reported to have hired the services of Canadian lobbying firm Dickens & Madson
