Former CS Justin Muturi revealed on Friday how he declined to sign a Ksh 129 billion deal as instructed by President William Ruto.
Muturi was speaking during a media interview where he revealed that he was Dubai only to be called by the President that there are Russian oligarchs who are waiting at him at the airprt to sign the deal.
He however declined the request, requesting time to go through the documents first.
“I landed in Dubai and received a phone call from President Ruto, who told me that Russian oligarchs were waiting at the airport and I needed to sign documents (on a Ksh.129B deal). I declined, insisting that I needed to review the documents in the office.” he said
He continued by saying that the reason as to why he did not resign despite the challenges is because he made a commitment to the people of Kenya.
“I made a conscious decision to continue serving in government even after my son was abducted because public service is not about personal comfort, it’s about commitment to the country. Yes, it was painful. But I couldn’t allow personal challenges to derail the responsibility I have to the people of Kenya. My family understood that, and we stood strong together.” he said
Muturi boldly declared that the President is unfit to hold office and that the development tours are nothing but campaigns he is doing come 2027.
“Based on my own careful assessment, I have concluded that President William Ruto is unfit to hold the office of the President of the Republic of Kenya. I say this not out of bitterness, but as a reasoned and objective judgment.” he said
“The President is misleading Kenyans by portraying his nationwide tours as development missions, while in truth, they are thinly veiled political campaigns aimed at boosting his chances in the 2027 elections.” he continued
