A post-mortem conducted by both the government and independent pathologists at Lee funeral has ruled out foul play in the death of Kariobangi North MCA Joel Munuve.
The two pathologist came to the conclusion that the MCA succumbed to a pulmonary thromboembolism, a blood clot that started from a big vein on his left foot and later travelled to his lungs, blocking major blood vessels.

“As a result of my examination, I formed the opinion that the cause of death was Pulmonary Thromboembolism due to Left Popliteal Vein Deep Vein Thrombosis. A blood clot travelled to the lungs and blocked a blood vessel, leading to death,” read the results
Also revealed were several clots in the left leg which had been there for a long time, the same leg that developed the blood clot through a deep vein.
Autopsy results also revealed a scar in his lungs, an indication that the MCA Joel Munuve had a condition prior to his death. Samples from the scar were also taken for further analysis.
His pulmonary trunk also had a clot with a whitish layer suggesting that his body did not get sufficient oxygen through his lungs.
