Members of Parliament have been pushing the government to push school principal to release the certificates which are being held over unpaid school fees.
They further informed the CS that most of the students cannot secure jobs or further their education due to the certificate.
The National Assembly committee on Education also noted that most of the students are forced turn to unskilled labor due to lack of the vital document.
According to school heads, they have over Ksh 20 billion in unpaid school fees making it hard to release the certificates.
In 2019 former Education CS George Magoha called on school heads to release certificates of students of who are genuinely unable to pay their school fees unconditionally.
