“We wish to inform our valued customers of a marginalprice adjustment for the DNA Testing Service from Ksh 20, 000 to Ksh 27, 000 starting this January 2025.” said Kemri
The reason for increase has been attributed to an increase in operation cost as well as the potential advances in DNA testing technology being used.
Also attributed to the increase in the high cost of acquiring the reagents required to conduct the tests as they are outsourced from international markets including Germany, U.S and Japan.
The cost of conducting DNA tests under Kemri has been a cheaper option for many Kenyans as the cost hike to up to Ksh 100,000 in private hospitals.
