The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has on Saturday announced the temporary closure of Uhuru Highway on Tuesday 4th.
The closure which will be between University Way and Kenyatta Avenue roundabouts will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am so as to allow procession to commemorate World Engineering Day.

Motorists have since been advised to exit the highway through Boulevard Hotel onto Harry Thuku Road, Moi Avenue and Kenyatta Avenue and rejoin the highway at Kenyatta Avenue roundabout.
“KeNHA advises motorists to approach the section with caution and follow the proposed traffic management plan herein and cooperate with the police and traffic marshalls on site,” read the notice
At the same time, KeNHA confirmed to motorists using the Juja-Gatundu Road that the road will temporarily be closed over the weekend from Juja Stage Junction to Gatundu so as to allow the installation of a culvert.
The road will be reopened on Monday, 3rd March with those plying the route will be diverted at Equity Afia Medical Centre (Juja) Road to join the Juja-Gatundu Road and Mucatha Road through Jomo Kenyatta University Way roundabout to join Thika Superhighway.
