The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has confirmed the reopening of a section of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange for traffic.
Through a statement, they appreciated the patience exercised as they conducted repairs especially that of the bridge.
““The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to inform the public that the section of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange has been opened to traffic today. The Authority appreciates your patience during the temporary closure for essential bridge and pavement repairs,” read the statement.

They continued by calling on motorists to exercise caution not only for their own safety but also for the safety of other road users.
“Motorists are advised to observe road signs and exercise caution for their safety and that of other road users. Don’t speed to impress, arrive to embrace.” they said
On 23rd December 2024 the authority announced the closure of the road to pave way for the reconstruction of concrete pavement at the virtual bridge.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) would like to inform the public that a section of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange (both carriageways) shall be temporarily closed.
This is to enable the rehabilitation of the expansion joints of all the bridges along the closed section as well as reconstruction of concrete pavement of the Virtual Weighbridge. The closure will commence on Tuesday December 24, 2024, at 8.00 pm to Sunday January 5, 2025 Midnight.” said KeNHA
