Kenya Power has recorded a Ksh 30 billion net profit in the year ending June 30th 2024 in contrast to a Ksh 3.19 billion net loss recorded in 2023.
Confirming the figures was Kenya Power who noted that the profit was attributed to a 21% increase in sales from commercial and industrial customers and the strengthening of the Kenyan Shilling to the US Dollar in the same period.
Also confirmed by the firm was the increase of sales from Ksh 191 billion to Ksh 231 billion as financial costs reduced by Ksh 25 billion compared to a Ksh 16.9 billion loss reported in the previous year.
For the first time after a long dividend pay out dryspell, the Kenya Power board recommended a Ksh 0.7 final dividend per ordinary share.
