Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania win bid to host AFCON 2027

Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania have all won the bid to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday 27th September by CAF during a meeting in Cairo, Egypt where they agreed the tournament’s final should be played in East Africa.

Morocco has already won the bid to host the 2025 finals after garnering a total of 22 votes.

Presenting the bid were Sports Ministers from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania as confirmed by CS Ababu Namwamba.

With colleagues Hon Damas Ndumbaro, Sports & Arts Minister of Tanzania and Hon Peter Ogwang, State Minister for Sports of Uganda, alongside our delegation that includes Uganda’s Deputy Speaker Hon Thomas Tayebwa, we have presented our E APamoja bid to CAF Online ExCom in Cairo.” said CS Ababu Namwamba
