Kenyan woman arrested in India with 1.4 kilos of cocaine

A Kenyan woman has been arrested at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, India smuggling cocaine.

The woman was found in possession of 1.4 kilos of cocaine with an estimated value of Ksh 8 million as confirmed by authorities.

Reports confirmed that the Kenyan national was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officers following her arrival via Kenya Airways on Thursday, December 28th.

“The ingenious concealment of the drugs involved two black polythene packets cleverly placed within a hair conditioner bottle and a body wash bottle,” said DRI

The news has cast the country as a gateway for narcotics destined for Asia and Europe further raising questions into the standards deployed at the airports to prevent such travels and confisticate the goods.
