Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has issued a stern warning to those vandalizing railways saying that those arrested will be treated as terrorists.
“Those citizens who are storming the railways and destroying railway infrastructure, I want you to know that act is terrorism. Those who are engaged in that activity are enemies of Kenya, just like terrorists,” he said

The CS who was speaking from Makueni County also issued a warning to those caught around the railways area saying that they will be charged under the Protected Areas Act.
““Any person found within the vicinity of a protected facility including railway, or critical water reservoirs will be dealt with in accordance with the Protected Areas Act. It is the most serious and punitive law; it is the law that guards the State House,” said the CS
This is not the first time that the government has issued such a warning. The first one followed the completion of the Nairobi-Nairobi railways where part of the infrastructure had been stolen a couple of times with some suspects arrested in possession of it.
