The King of Jordan has told off German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that they will not take in refugees from Gaza and neither will Egypt do do.
The revelations were made on Tuesday during a press briefing when the German Chancellor hoped that Arab countries will take in refugees from Palestine fleeing the Israel-Gaza war.
“I think I can speak here on behalf of Jordan … but also our friends in Egypt: This is a red line … no refugees to Jordan and also no refugees to Egypt,” said King Abdullah.

The news comes at a time when Scholz is planning to make a trip to Israel and Egypt to cool the ongoing human crisis building caused by the war. It is his hope that Egypt will open its doors and welcome refugees from Palestine.
“It is imperative that the suffering civilian population, who are being used as human shields by Hamas, receives humanitarian aid.” said Scholz. “The Palestinians are not Hamas … the Palestinian population is also a victim of Hamas.” he said
According to the King of Jordan, the situation in Palestine needs to be dealt within Gaza and the West Bank.
“This is a situation that has to be handled within Gaza and the West Bank. And you don’t have to do it on the shoulders of others.” said the King
