Three people are feared dead and one survived on Saturday when a quarry in Mwea, Kirinyaga County collapsed.
Confirmed the incident was Citizen TV who noted that Mwea Sub-County Police Commander James Mutua was informed of the incident by the area Chief.
“We got word from the area chief that Kimuri Quarry had caved in and four individuals had been trapped under the rubble,” said James Mutua

Upon their arrival, the police were able to rescue one person who was covered by the rubble before he was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
James Mutua continued by confirming that the survivor is in a stable condition and that those who died include a man and two women.
The bodies of the three were taken to Kerugoya hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
