Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) has summoned 143 Kisii County government employees over their questionable academic qualifications.
Issuing the notice was EACC Regional Manager Ruth Yator who called on those employees named in the investigation to avail themselves at their office for interogation.
It has since been revealed that many of those named were recruited during the reign of former Governor James Ongwae.

“To facilitate this investigation, kindly inform the following officers to appear before our investigators at our South Nyanza Regional office, Kisii, along Kisii-Kilgoris road on the date and time indicated against their names,” read the letter
Confirming EACC’s statement was the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) who noted that a majority of employees of the county government used fake qualification documents to secure employement.
“We also conducted verification of certificates through the Kenya National Examinations Council. Given the nature of this report as it touches on individuals and its sensitivity, we are leaving it with the Governor to take it up with the stakeholders and relevant authorities,” said Abdullahi
