Residents of Kisumu on Saturday staged protest condemning the killing of a middle-aged man on Friday night by unknown assailants.
Taking on the Mamboleo-Miwani road, the angry residents led by Kajulu Ward MCA Benson Adega, the residents noted the increased number of insecurity in the area.
The deceased is reported to have been attacked, stripped naked before he was inflicted with life threatening injuries which he succumbed to at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).

They noted that that is not the first incident as recently another person was shot dead by the thugs who are slowly causing fear among traders at the Mamboleo market.
Also demanded by the residents was the construction of a permanent police base in the area given the increased population.
Addressing the angry residents was Kisumu East sub-county police boss Joseph Obara who noted that the area has already been mapped out as a hotspot. He promised increased patrols by both uniformed and non-uniformed police officers.
“This road to Wigot is a hotspot, we have had another incident…during this festive season, we have made security arrangements on how to cover it,” he said
