The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has kicked off the registration of the 2025 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) learners next week.
According to the examination board the exercise will run for a month and will kick off on January 27th and will end on 28th February 2025.
Issuing an update was the examination board CEO David Njengere who also issued the requirements that candidates should have.
“Please note that the KNEC Registration portal shall be closed on 28th February, 2025 and there will be no provision for late registration of candidates once the portal is closed. All the relevant process owners and stakeholders, including parents and candidates, must therefore be informed on the need to adhere to the set deadlines,” he said
He continued by saying that grade 6 learner will again be registered through the KPSEA Registration portal as he warned that school registering ghost pupils will be deregistered.
“Learners without an Assessment Number will not be able to register for KPSEA, since the number will be mandatory. Upon successful assignment of the Assessment Number in the Grade 6 portal, the Heads of Institutions will be enabled to register the candidates,” he said
Njengere continued by urging school head to complete learners transfers before the February deadline and that the process will also be done online.
According to KNEC,, they will only foot Ksh 750 as assessment fee for students in public and private schools. Non-citizens sitting for KPSEA and KILEA will be required to make payments via the e-Citizen platform.
