The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has notified Kenyans that all tax payments will from now onwards be made through paybill number 222222.
The new directive which is in line with the Kenya Gazette No. 16008 of 2022 is also in line with the President’s directive on all government payments moving forward.
“Use the Payment Registration Number (PRN) or the Ref. Number on the Payment Slips generated from KRA Business Systems: iTax, iCMS, EGMS, and KESRA iStudent as the account number when making tax payments via mobile money,” said KRA

Those planning to make to make payments will be required to key in 222222 as the paybill followed by the PRN, amount and finally the pin number. Alternatively one can use the ussd *222# and follow prompt on making payment to KRA.
Since its introduction in 2022, all government services including those through e-citizen platform will be channeled to the new paybill.
“All payments for Government services shall progressively be made through eCitizen.go.ke. The official Government of Kenya Pay Bill Number is 222222,” said the government.
