The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) vet team has administered a second round of treatment to a lion for a suspected snake bite that he received a fortnight ago.
The team observed that the upper lip of the lion was swollen thus affecting the lower one and the tissue in it thus the need for treatment.

“The KWS Mara Vet team recently attended to the lion in the Mara Conservancy, administering a second round of treatment for a suspected snake bite received a fortnight ago.
The lion, observed with a swollen upper lip and mildly infected lower lip with sloughed off tissue, was given thorough wound cleaning, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory medication.
Despite the injuries, Lorkulup is in good body condition, and our dedicated team will continue to monitor his progress. KWS remains committed to the welfare of Kenya’s wildlife!” said KWS
