The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has done it again and this time is saving a lion in Enasoit Ranch with serious groin injuries.
The male lion had visible difficulties moving around the ranch in what could have been due to a fierce fight with a buffalo.

“Wild fights in the savannah are as fierce as they come! And for KWS vets, it’s a 24/7 mission to safeguard wildlife and ensure they thrive in their natural habitats.
The KWS Mobile Veterinary Unit in Northern Kenya, with support from Dr. Florence of Olpejeta Conservancy and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, rushed to the aid of a lion in Enasoit Ranch, Laikipia. The lion had sustained serious groin injuries, likely from a dramatic encounter with a buffalo.” said KWS
After cleaning the wound and suturing the injury, the team will now embark on observing it to ensure that it regains its mobility.
“The team worked tirelessly, cleaning the wounds, suturing the injury, and administering systemic medications to ensure the lion’s recovery. With the risk of infection and mobility challenges, the lion will be closely monitored over the next few days to assess his progress.” said KWS
