Lara Trump has ended weeks of speculation by confirming that she will not be in contention for the U.S Senate seat for Florida.
Lara who is President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter in law was well in course to occupy the seat after Trump had called Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis that he wanted her to take over the seat if Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is confirmed as secretary of state.
The news had heat up lately after Lara, the wife to Trump’s son Eric stepped down as the chairperson of Republican National Committee.

“After an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I have decided to remove my name from consideration for the United States Senate,” she said
Billionaire Elon Musk’s mother Maye Musk also diged into the matter called on the appointment of a young and smart woman in teh Senate.
“The Senate is an old man’s club. We desperately need a smart, young, outspoken woman who will reveal their secrets,” she said
Lara has however shared how humbled she was by the support she received especially from Florida residents even though she has other plans which she will reveal come January 2025.
“I remain incredibly passionate about public service and look forward to serving our country again sometime in the future,” she said. “I do have a big announcement that I’m excited to share in January, so, stay tuned,” she continued.
