Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has slammed the introduction of high-rise apartments in Nairobi especially in the leafy suburbs of Kileleshwa and Lavington.
Taking on X, Kipkorir noted that the news was the introduction of turning Nairobi into a slum and slowly ending it as the great city.
He continued by saying that slowly the policy will turn the city into cities like Kinshasa or Mogadishu and before we know it UNEP will relocate its embassy to Kigali, Rwanda.

“As converting Nairobi City into a slum is now official policy, we are witnessing the end of Nairobi as a GREAT CITY. In few years, Nairobi will be a big slum city like Kinshasa or Mogadishu. UNEP will pull out of Nairobi.
Embassies based here that cover East & Central Africa will relocate to Kigali. It is truly sad how political excitement makes politicians destroy a City & Country. What a sad epitaph to Nairobi.” he said
The statement by Lawyer Donald Kipkorir is among the very many opinions shared by Kenyans who are against it saying that places like Karen do not deserve such changes given its status quo.
However Sakaja maintained that he has already received a nod of approval by President William Ruto and what remains is the issue of sewerage, water and drainage issues in the city.
