28-year-old Lilian Nyambura Mbugua, a brand manager with East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) has gone missing under mysterious circumstances two days to Christmas.
Lilian had joined her family in Gikono, Kabati, Murang’a County for the holidays and even attended a Sunday church service with family on 22nd December. The following day on Monday, she took breakfast and lunch as confirmed by the family.
The same Monday at 5pm, Lilian is reported to have walked outside the home compound through the gated community which the family thought that she was taking an evening stroll.

“It seemed like she had just gone for an ordinary walk around the estate because she was still in her head scarf and slippers. Her mother was doing some house chores in the backyard,” Lilian’s uncle George Njuguna told Citizen TV
Efforts to reach her failed as she had left behind her mobile phones together with her other gadgets.
“Her car, keys, laptop and keys to her Nairobi keys were also in the family house, alongside all her identity documents,” said George
They reported the matter on December 24th and also reported the same issue to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday 28th December.
According to the police, the case is a little bit hard as she did carry with her any communication device which could have been tracked to pin her last location.
““It is a hard inquiry because if we had a phone we could track or a known motor vehicle we could trace, it would be easier to narrow down our lines of investigation,” Constable Patrick Maina of Gikono police post told Citizen TV
