The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Eliud Lagat has suspended all local security meeting in Elgeyo Marakwet.
The order is meant to allow the police officers on the ground to conduct effective and efficient operation in the region.

“They remain suspended as we conduct operations to get the guns behind the attacks,” he said
In recent days, attacks in the region have persisted leading to the death of three people who comprise of school going children.
The news follows a visit in the region by the DIG to assess the situation, a ceremony which he also presented nine ambush-protected vehicles (MRAP) to boost there operation.
He also met Sub-County Security and Intelligence Committees and later on also held talks with representatives from Tiaty West and Pokot Central.
