A woman is feared dead and another person sustained serious injuries after lorry lost control at the Likoni ferry crossing channel.
The Friday night incident occurred at around 7:15 pm when the driver of the lorry identified as Bakari Gonga was coming from the mainland heading towards the ferry carrying building blocks.

After losing control of the lorry, the driver run over two pedestrians, one being the woman who died on the spot and the other one was a man who suffered fractures on both his legs.
The deceased was moved to Coast General Hospital Mortuary and the injured was taken to Likoni Sub-County Hospital for treatment.
The Mitsubishi FH lorry has since been moved by the police to Likoni Police Station pending further investigations.
