Lugari Member of Parliament (MP) Nabii Nabwera has on Wednesday slapped the personal assistant to Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa.
Revealing the details was Senator Boni Khalwale who said that the incident occurred when President William Ruto took on the contractor tasked with renovating Bukhungu stadium. According to Khalwale, he will tell the reason behind the move.
“The MP for Lugari, Nabii Nabwera, today shocked us when he slapped a PA to Kakamega County Governor! This was at Bukhungu Stadium when the president took on the contractor, who is the subject for the stalled Bukhungu Stadium! Reason? Will tell.” said Khalwale

The revelation comes hours after President William Ruto noted that the pace at which the renovations were being conducted at the 30,000 capacity stadium was unacceptable.
“The pace at which the Bukhungu Stadium is being renovated is unacceptable. The facility’s facelift must be completed by mid-2026.
The ministries of sports and public works are under instructions to review the progress made so far and ensure the project is completed on time. Toured the 30,000-seater Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega County, that is under renovation.” said President Ruto
