Azimio la Umoja has set Wednesday as the new date for the countrywide anti-government protest popular known as maandamano.
Revealing the news during a presser at SKM Centre was former Murang’a County Governor Mwangi wa Iria who noted that moving forward the government will hold protests once a week.

He continued by calling on their supporters to turn up in large numbers as he promised that they will also take part in the protests despite planned arrests and threats from the government.
“We will be there to ensure that force this government to listen to the people. We know that they intend to arrest and torture us but we will not relent,” said Mwangi Wa Iria
According to the coalition, the government should reduce taxes and the cost of living which has been on a sharp increase lately.
They continued by condemning the cases of police brutality in the country and most importantly in Nairobi, Migori, Homabay and Kisumu.
