Machakos Level 5 Hospital through County CECM health Dr. Daniel Yumbya has confirmed that it will no longer accept bodies from neighbouring counties.
Addressing the media on Saturday, Dr. Daniel Yumbya passed the message to police that they should stop collecting dead bodies from neigbouring counties and taking them to the facility.

He continued by saying that the collected bodies cause congestion and that moving forward the facility will only accept bodies from the county.
Since taking over as Machakos Governor, the hospital under Governor Wavinya Ndeti has also accumulated 62 unclaimed bodies with most of them being road accident victims from Thika, Kiambu, Makueni among other counties.
The large numbers have seen the hospital management dispose some of the bodies so as to decongest the facility. The hospital mortuary is currently undergoing renovations as revealed by the County CECM.
